Our friendly team of experienced experts, with collectively 150 years of first-hand knowledge, provides Aston Martin owners with the comfort that their luxury, hand-built car stays in the best of hands and is cared for in, quite simply, the best specialist Aston Martin workshop facility in London. For us, working with Aston Martins is a vocation. Couple all this with our industry and market experience and our vast model and product knowledge and we can confidently boast that ‘We Know Astons’.

As a leading Aston Martin specialist it is vital that our industry knowledge remains as up to date and relevant as possible. This is exactly why we maintain links with several specific Aston Martin organisations such as the celebrated Aston Martin Owners Club and the Aston Martin Heritage Trust and, of course, the Aston Martin Lagonda Limited factory. However, we also ensure we keep abreast of developments in the wider luxury, classic, performance and sports car markets generally and have a broad base of contacts from third party specialist suppliers, car event organisers, the main motoring magazines, webzines, online motoring discussion forums and auto blogs. In addition, we regularly attend circuit events from race meetings at Silverstone and Goodwood to specific track and race days, not just in Britain but also in Europe.

Peter Hamilton • Service Manager

Our service manager, engineer and technician, Peter has established an enviable reputation within the Aston Martin fraternity and has a particular interest in new era models from DB7 onwards. For twelve years workshop foreman at a Mayfair, London, dealership that up to 2008 was the busiest Aston Martin service facility in the world, he has twice received the honour of ‘Aston Martin Technician of the Year’, in 2000 and 2003, at the annual Aston Martin Dealer World Conference. Prior to Aston Martins, Peter has thirty years experience of other high performance cars, including Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Ian Mason • Consultant Engineer

Foremost amongst our skilled engineers and technicians in terms of experience and knowledge, Ian remains well known throughout the Aston Martin world both off and on the race track where he continues to prepare and run cars in historic events. Having served an apprenticeship at Aston Martin’s former factory at Feltham, Middlesex, in the 1950s, he went on to become Service Manager at the famous Works Service department at the marque’s next home in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, until establishing his eponymous company. With such a pedigree, Ian has unrivalled experience and commitment in the extensive road testing and fine tuning of Aston Martins.

Andy Chenery • Technician

Andy is our specialist new era vehicle technician. He is factory trained up to the current DBS and has attended a number of factory training courses.  Before joining our team, Andy worked at Aston Martin Works Service between 1999 and 2001 and at a leading Aston Martin dealership between 2007 and 2009. He has a built up a wealth of specialist knowledge about Astons, as well as having experience of other luxury marques, including Jaguar and Land-Rover/Range-Rover.

John Moore • Technician

Having joined Ian Mason Aston Martin Services in 1982 and worked closely with Ian until 2008, John has enormous experience with Aston Martins and specialises in DB4 to DBS V8/V8 models. In his additional capacity managing all aspects of our restoration work, John’s knowledge of the older cars is invaluable.

Andrew McLelland • Apprentice Technician

At Aston Service London we are fully committed to the legend that is Aston Martin. This includes passing on our specialist skills by running working apprenticeships. Our current apprentice, Andrew, who has a passion for all things Aston Martin, works closely with our experienced technicians in our workshop building his knowledge and skills.

Mark Hewitt • Parts Manager

Prior to joining our sister company, Desmond J. Smail, in 2007, Mark spent 27 years working at Aston Martin Parts Operations at the company’s Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, factory. Well known in the Aston Martin world, his encyclopaedic knowledge of DB4 to Vanquish models and their components enables us to locate even obsolete parts in the shortest possible time.

Sarah McIlroy • Office Manager

With seven years experience in facility management and customer services, Sarah oversees all aspects of our office and administration.

Desmond Smail • Managing Director

Our managing director, Desmond has been working with Aston Martins since 1976 when he began as an apprentice mechanic at a well known marque specialist. Five years later he began operating on a self-employed basis under his own name before expanding Desmond J. Smail in 1985 with its own premises in Olney. Still based in the Buckinghamshire town, just 10 minutes drive from Newport Pagnell, and incorporating a new showroom opened in 2010, our sister company is a well established and highly regarded Aston Martin specialist dealing in all aspects of models from 1958 to the current era.
